  1. Short:    ImageStudio PNG image format loader/saver

  6.     Welcome to the ImageStudio PNG IO module. This module will
  7. allow ImageStudio to load and save PNG files, the new file format
  8. designed to replace GIF.
  9.  
  10.     Installation instructions are contained within the archive
  11. (see README.txt) and a description of the advantages of PNG over
  12. GIF are given the file 'INFO.txt'.
  13.  
  14.     Both 68000 and 68020+ versions of the module are included;
  15. unregistered users of ImageStudio will find when loading PNG files
  16. they will be cropped to 512x512 pixels. Registered users will have
  17. a fully working module.
  18.  
  19.     The module is based on a pre-release version of the PNG library
  20. code written by Group42. It should therefore still be considered as
  21. "work in progress" and a finished version of the PNG module will be
  22. released when the PNG library reaches v1.0 (it is currently v0.6).
